San Diego Zoo





I had always wanted to visit this zoo as I have only heard excellent things about it - and I was not disappointed.

I recommend taking the guided bus tour to get a first impression of the layout of the zoo and then walk around it. There is also the Kangaroo bus tour where you can hop on and off and the Skyfari aerial tram. There are many animals here that we do not usually see in European zoos such as the Chinese Takins. The zoo is divided into different areas such as Tiger River or Horn & Hoof Mesa.

I think the highlight of my visit (although it is very hard to choose) was the pandas. Unfortunately the gorilla enclosure was being redone while I was there so I guess I'll have to go back again.
