Krefeld Zoo

It is a small zoo which has had a lot of success in breeding - especially the snow leopards. They have changed several things in the past few years - tropic house, big cat enclosures and tree kangaroo enclosure. My favourite place is the ape house where you can watch the big apes without glass or bars between you. I have watched Jambo, a gorilla, grow up since he was born here in the zoo in 1993. Krefeld Zoo is planning a new ape outside enclosure which should improve the living conditions of the apes. The tropic house allows you to see the animals close up in their steamy environment. The new Big Cat enclosure is looks great although it is difficult to see the cats if they hide in the tall grass. This is my favourite zoo in Germany!
