Wellington Zoo

This zoo is finally getting rid of its bars and cages mentality and becoming a zoo that is fairly pleasant to visit It is serious about conservation matters. They have alot of success with primates, both with the presentation and with breeding.

The rear of the zoo is slowly being transformed into an African section, however it is not as good as Auckland zoo's Pridelands section. This part of the zoo is the steepest of the somewhat hilly site of Wellington zoo. Their newest project will be building a new Kiwihouse near the entrance of the zoo.

There is a cafe in the zoo and a few toilets but no other recreation facilities that I can recall.

I wish the zoo the best luck in their redevelopments. At last it is no longer an embarrassment to the city.
